RESTORATION Project: Great father/son, complete “classic car” project! This is a structurally sound & clean 1967 Pontiac Catalina Hard Top Coupe Fastback, for restoration. It’s the third generation of the Pontiac Catalina (produced from ’65 – ’70).
It was the “big brother” to the Pontiac 1965 GTO. It comes with the OEM 400 Cid block (already piston-fit bored), #61 performance heads, Offenhauser Intake manifold, new fitted pistons & rings, recently rebuilt three-speed automatic transmission built for racing (rebuilt at Transmission City, Sandy, UT), “hard to find” – dual cowl Induction hood (probably from a GTO). You also get the “new” interior carpet, seats, trim, glass, molding, bumpers, etc.! And the fender skirts. Clean title!
I wouldn’t say that it’s not matching numbers as the majority of the parts are original to this car. Simply needs to be verified, as this was purchased from another guy as a “ready to be finished” project car. Full-size car with a fastback roofline, stacked headlights, and a “Coke-Bottle” Sheet Metal profile. It’s considered a muscle car because of its powerful V8 engine, which helped Pontiac succeed in NASCAR in the 1960’s.
The 1967 Catalina 2-door hardtop coupe has a 400 cubic inch (Cid) engine that produces 290 hp.
Other features of the 1967 Catalina include:
* 3-speed AT * Power steering and brakes * Factory air conditioning * Original AM pushbutton radio * Vent windows * Factory clock * Heater and defroster * Driver’s-side chrome mirror * Dual exhaust system
